ahm today was very, very, crowded. but then of course most of the army was there. plus the sheares bridge run civilians. it was all rather farcical. the announcer started a countdown to the flagoff, so everyone joined in counting "ten! nine! eight! ... ... two! one! ord loh!" ( the 'ord loh' was just me )
ten minutes later: my unit reached the starting point.
and we had to walk for the first 1 - 2km, until suntec. and i think those who ran all the way ended up running an extra klick or so because of all the weaving in and out the fat drivers and infantry types you have to do.
but it was fun. the last 5k or so we started singing too, which helps to take your mind off the tiredness. unfortunately it didn't manage to earn us an extra day off, although our csm did salute us, as he said he would if we ran together and sang.
i'd take the day off any day, though.
